As one of the founders of IREJN, Teresa is excited to return as Interim Director in June 2011.  From 1998 until 2002, she helped runa statewide campaign to clean up grandfathered fossil fuel power plants; groundbreaking legislation to accomplish this was passed in 2002.  She also wrote and edited IREJN’s quarterly newsletter and successfully wrote IREJN’s first grant.  After working with IREJN, Teresa went on to work extensively in the non-profit field.

Teresa Eickel was the Executive Director for the Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation from 2006 until 2010.  During that time, she oversaw the development and implementation of HNF’s innovative TRIAD research which funds cure-driven academic research designed for pharmaceutical continuation and trials.   She also oversaw many fundraising and awareness events, such as HNF’s annual Golf Outing, Spin for the Cure spinathons in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, and numerous letter writing campaigns. In addition, Teresa wrote and edited articles for the website and for HNF’s annual publication, CMT Update.

Other organizations Teresa has worked or consulted with include the You Can Thrive Foundation, the Alpha Omega Ensemble, and the Fifth Ave Presybeterian Church’s Homeless Shelter.
