In 2011, IREJN is adding a new component to This Old House of Worship – Pass It On Audits. Graduates of This Old House of Worship and others assist congregations in auditing their facilities.
Highlights of Pass It On:
* Created for congregations unable to send a team to This Old House of Worship
* Congregational representatives, an Audit Follow-Up Team, attend an introductory meeting
* Baseline data on current energy use is gathered by the Audit Follow-Up Team
* Pass It On Audit is scheduled to allow the Audit Follow-Up Team to participate in the building walkthrough and discussion
* Summary discussion (immediately following the walkthrough) includes writing up recommendations and next steps
* Audit Follow-Up Team designates a member who will maintain contact with IREJN to support progress and implementation of the action plan
* IREJN staff are available for presentations on audit results and follow up options as well as steps that individuals can take in their own homes and businesses
Pass It On Provides the Audit, But Your Congregation Still Needs To:
* Designate an Audit Follow-Up Team
* Prioritize and implement recommendations
*Congregations participating in Pass It On are requested to make a donation to IREJN to help defray program costs and further our common mission of environmental stewardship.
